Flagstaff Caves and Scenic Chair Ride 2017

A group of close friends ventured north to find some fall colors and explore the Lava Tubes. We camped out at Bonito Campground just near Sunset Crater. The night was filled with warmth from our bonfire and some hot cider with fireball, which helped keep us even warmer. The next morning we took a little off road trail out to the Lava Caves. Here we descended into the caves which were cool and tamp. Our head lamps and flash lights were the only light visible from the depths of earth. This was an amazing exploration hike underground. We then drove through to the other side of Flagstaff to Snowbowl resort. We boarded the chairlift and rode the scenic ride to the top. At the top we were able to hike around and see some ecstatic views. After a long day of adventuring we began our trek back to camp where it was another night filled with good friends, company, food and drinks!
