Saguaro Man 2018

This Saguaro Man was an awesome burn without any fire. Arizona fire restrictions limited us to propane fires only. The wind and dust was a constant and did not let down more than an hour or two a day. Wearing googles and dust masks the whole time as if we were at Black Rock City. That did not stop us burners from having an amazing time in the middle of the desert by any means. I got in on Wednesday afternoon with my cousin. This was his first burn, so once we got to the gate we made sure he did a proper dirt angel and welcomed him home. We got to camp and set up for the rest of the afternoon. Thursday was our first full day at Sag. We began the endless walks around the loop with our campmates and drank and ate and were full of joy. Our camp was called "Britney Spearribs," and we threw a theme party on Friday. Over 10 of us dressed like Britney Spears in numerous stages of her life, while blasting Britney Spears music, gifting over 100 lbs of ribs and pouring people toxic. The line began small and after a short time it became a fun dance party while everyone enjoyed their ribs. Saturday was a very low key day for me, I wanted to chill out and spend sometime either by myself doing some thinking while there was no outside influences. I also took Saturday to sit with some people I had met through out the week and just sit one on one and pick their brains and get to know them more than what is on the surface. Had a wonderful time talking to Lucky, the owner and driver of "Shack to Helluride," which is an art cart that drives around at Saguaro Man and Burning Man. Sunday as usual, is a sad day to have to pack up and head back to the default world. I normally would take lots of photos but I have had a broken camera for quite sometime. Either way as always there is always just too many stories or memories to write about. The only way to know what a burn is about is to attend and participate. )`(
