Snowbird, Solitude and Brighton 2021

Our yearly snowboard trip is something we all look forward to every year. This year was a guy’s only trip. This meant we could burn laps from first to last chair all day. We decided that we were going back to Utah this year to hit some of the resorts through Cottonwood Canyon.
The first day I flew in and met with a buddy who drove us to our Airbnb. The condo was located right at the base of Solitude with a ski in ski out area. We waited for the others that night but unfortunately, they got stuck in a massive snowstorm as they were driving from Colorado. Waking up to fresh powder covering the patio got us moving quick. We spent the first half of the day exploring Solitude. When the rest of our group was getting close we decided to refuel and grab lunch. The other half of our group showed up and we all went out to finish the day. Once we got back to the Airbnb, I cooked up some tacos and we got to all catch up over dinner and cocktails.
On our second day of snowboarding, we headed next door to Brighton. Brighton, being a bit larger than Solitude, filled our day with new run after new run. We found some great bowls and back country spots that we sessioned for a few laps. After a full day we headed back to our place and made our way to dinner.
The third and last day of snowboarding we headed to Snowbird. Snowbird is massive, there was so much terrain including tunnels through the mountain, front sides, back sides, all sides, steep bowls and epic tree runs. We started the day with hopping right on the tram going to one of the tallest peaks on the mountain. We ended up traversing and dropping into a super steep and smooth bowl. This run was the fastest clocked speed I have ever hit on my snowboard, clocking in at 58 mph. After a few more runs we found our self-deep into some trees following ridgelines. These runs were epic. The trees were perfectly spaced to keep up speed while carving through powder and keeping the vibes high. Snowbird quickly became my favorite snow resort in Utah.
This trip was one for the books. The yearly snowboard trip is one of the trips I look forward to every winter. Utah has always given us great snow and good runs. I can’t wait to get back to Utah next season when the powder hits.
